Happy 602 Day! Other than celebrating with all the businesses throughout Phoenix, we’ve got something really cool for you. Ready for the best horse show in AZ? Callie McCarthy-Boevers the Director of Marketing for NRCHA joined us to share about the Kimes Ranch Derby which is free to attend and returning for its fifth year at WestWorld in Scottsdale through June 7. The 11-day cow horse competition is FREE to the public and is part rodeo, part performance art that’s fun for the whole family. Horse and rider pairs will compete in three main events, including herd work (think cutting cattle), rein work (the equestrian equivalent of figure skating), and fence work (fast-paced runs chasing and turning a cow). A vendor village will feature bespoke western goods, and title sponsor Kimes Ranch will have their premium western apparel on display. Concessions will be available through WestWorld alongside a rotation of local food trucks. Also, Courtney Fae Long is back teaching us how to get our spark back in our relationships. It starts by removing any heart blocks and then creating a map for you and your partner to your heart. It’s a fun, prop-filled conversation! Ep. 113 - Composting and Food Waste 101: Why it Matters and How to Make a Difference

Composting is not the most sexy topic BUT it’s an important one. We sat down with two businesses who have come together to form a beautiful partnership to battle food waste. Tonia Smith of Waste Not and J.D. Hill of Recycled City talked to us about ways you can also be a part of this cause. From volunteering with Waste Not to pick up and donate food that would otherwise be wasted to implementing easy compost solutions in your own household with Recycled City’s efficient program. We learned a lot about the staggering rates of food waste and how it impacts our environment. This was a really fascinating episode that gives you some realistic options to explore. • Ep. 110 - Apache History and ‘The Legend of the Blue Mountains’ with Author Lynn Galvin

Ep. 110 - Apache History and ‘The Legend of the Blue Mountains’ with Author Lynn Galvin

Author Lynn Gavin has an incredible story to tell. Historically we know the Native American Wars did NOT end with Geronimo's last surrender in 1886, and that in fact a band of blended hold-out Apaches in northern Mexico continued its old-style of living & raiding into the 1940's (& possibly '50's). This novel poses the question, what happens if they had continued and lived to current times? Lynn’s passion and knowledge of history of Cochise Country and surrounding areas is wildly impressive. Melissa and Marshall learned a lot and now have a new list of places to visit!
