Ep. 82 - Everything You Thought You Knew About Baby Birds Is Wrong (and We Have an Owl to Prove It)

Liberty Wildlife is back in the house! This time, Laura brought in a real treat -- a Great Horned Owl named Cally. She was the perfect guest and showed off her wingspan, talked to us quite a bit and we learned some amazing things about her. Laura also busted one very important myth about birds that's great for you to know as we approach Spring: most birds don't have a sense of smell with the exception of vultures. Most people believe that if you come across a baby bird, you're not supposed to touch it because the mother will smell the scent of a human and reject it. That's not true! That means that if you come across a baby bird that has fallen out of its nest, you can absolutely pick it up and put it back safely. Watch the whole episode to learn more!
